Inspiring change through philosophy and art
Welcome

Who am I?
Yafit Saranga - protest artist, Israeli writer and philosopher. Painter and activist creator.
From the author of the book "As The Tongue Tastes The Food," which deals with morality and the eating of animals in the modern era.
My interests are philosophy, art, and marketing. These three fields are intertwined and intertwined in me, as I use all the tools at my disposal and abilities to align my worldview in an attempt to inspire fundamental change in the world.
My philosophy explores the concepts of human cognition such as existence, reality, soul, consciousness, logic, morality, causality, knowledge, and language, with a primary focus on ethics, a field that deals with human character and dilemmas relevant to the modern era concerning the philosophy of morality.
Through philosophical discourse, I present a critical approach that deals with the essence of morality and the making of moral assessments: what is considered good and bad in the modern era? And what is the right thing to do?

On eating animals
My new books
"And the palate will taste food for him"
About ten years ago, on a spring Friday, I met up with my friends for a relaxing meal and to catch up. In between the deep conversations, I listened to a conversation between two of them — they were talking about eating animals .
Vered, who had gone vegan not long before the meeting, talked about her feelings about eating meat, and Oshrit was amazed to hear her words and asked —
“So you’re saying that people who eat animals are immoral?”
The conversation between them, which I'm sure took place in many other homes and groups, continued and developed, and I just took that question with me on the road. It's a multifaceted question that I felt I couldn't give a full and informed answer to at the time.
While formulating my thesis in philosophy studies, I felt an enlightenment that the modern era was precisely the time for a discussion about the animal industry, and the question that had haunted me for years found its appropriate solution.
As the granddaughter of a butcher family, I am aware that the discourse about eating animals is full of feelings and emotions. Perhaps because on the one hand, food is part of a passion, a love, a hobby, a necessity, sometimes even part of a livelihood, and on the other hand, there is the understanding that we must strive for a moral society in which good behaviors are chosen in light of values and not purely out of desires and wishes, and therefore it is appropriate that not everything that can be eaten be considered food.
As you read, I invite you to leave your prejudices and habits aside, and dive with me into a broad philosophical thought about our choices in the modern era, their consequences, the society in which we want to live, and the people we want to be.

The modern era is an era of the self-centered, self-actualizing, and jealous of one's freedom of choice and rights. It is an era filled with changes in all areas of life, including significant changes in the food that one chooses for one's plate. In this comprehensive and profound book, the author, Yafit Saranga, invites the reader to an open, moral, and profound discussion about man's place in his relationship with animals, the forces acting on him in the modern era, and his personal responsibility for the consequences of his food choices.

My art
In his book "The Merry Science," Nietzsche wrote - "All art is philosophy." Similarly, the artist in me brings the messages I want to convey through sensory perception. By connecting the field of aesthetics in art to the philosophy of morality, I paint messages.
I am a realist painter who holds an emotive approach to art, emphasizing the ability of a work to evoke emotions in the viewer.
As a vegan, every painting I paint has a message I want to convey. In my paintings, I paint not what people want to see, but what I think people need to see. Not all of my paintings are pleasing to the eye. Some will see my art as redemption, and others will see it as suffering. In any case, my desire to paint stems from the need to cause a change in behavior - and if I managed to arouse emotion in the viewer, create awareness and cause a positive change that will lead to a reduction in animal consumption - from my point of view, I won.
